Whole Body Vibration Therapy (WBVT) on a Vibro-Trainer

We have been using this unique form of exercise therapy at In-Line Physio & Allied health for eight years now and have found it to be of great benefit for many of our clients. Alison and Martin made a video with three exercise routines to do while on the vibro-trainer and they have sold thousands of these Australia-wide.

Its history is directly linked to the Russian Space program. Physicians noticed that the returning astronauts suffered from loss of bone mass and bone fractures at a much earlier age than was normal. They began to use whole body vibration devices to help strengthen astronauts’ bone mass and muscles. Today NASA uses vibration therapy to help prevent muscle loss in astronauts.Vibro-Trainer

When compared with low cost consumer level machines, our WBVT offers far superior stability for your head and neck and for your weight bearing joints as it minimizes joint movement while toning your muscles and strengthening your bones. We will always operate the machine at frequencies to suit the individual in order to achieve optimal clinical results.

Research is continuing to be conducted in leading medical institutions around the world and we will be able to discuss this with you.

 

WBVT can provide required results in just 2 x 15 minute or 3 x 10 minute sessions per week either standing, sitting or moving on the platform. That’s less time than it takes to drink your morning coffee!

We often combine this form of exercise with Clinical Pilates as they work well together especially when working on strengthening the ‘core’.
