“I am passionate about helping clients better understand how they think, feel, behave and react, and provide support to help them achieve their goals. I have experience and training across a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
I take pride in providing a trauma-informed and neurodiverse-affirming practice, creating a safe and supportive environment for my clients. As part of the referral and intake process, I take the time to understand the client’s current contexts and goals, ensuring that I tailor services accordingly. If, in any case, I find that services may not be the most suitable fit, I am committed to providing alternative recommendations for specialist or treatment-based services as needed.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic demonstrated the importance of community-centred, flexible models of delivery. Over the past couple of years, we have seen an increase in the uptake of telehealth services nationwide. Innovations in Government schemes such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) have demonstrated the benefits of mobile services and provide an opportunity to rethink psychological support for individuals accessing support through other Government initiatives or privately. This led me to establish Wren Psychology Group, a community-centred, mobile psychology practice that supports our community in Samford and surrounding areas.
